He was a beast of such ferocity his name came to mean "Death of the Demigods.". [^1] He also led [[The Black Blade Kindred]]. Later, during the [[Golden Age of the Erdtree]], [[Ranni|Ranni]] plucked a fragment of the Rune of Death, and used it to stage the assassination of [[Godwyn|Godwyn the Golden]] on [[Night of the Black Knives|The Night of Black Knives]]. When the Rune of Death sprouted from Godwyn's corpse, spreading through the Lands Between in the form of [[Deathroot]], Maliketh vowed to track it down under the guise of Gurranq, and later developed a taste for it. [[D(arian), Hunter of the Dead]] later worked in his service in weeding out Deathroot, which was the source of [[Those Who Live in Death]]. The Tarnished can find him in the [[Bestial Sanctum]] in Caelid, dressed in the robes of a clergyman, disguised as [[Maliketh|Gurranq]]. The Tarnished can also fight Maliketh in [[Farum Azula]].
